Worktops
The surface you touch a hundred times a day, and the one decision that could date your kitchen. Weigh up the options, then choose one you love.
We do not fabricate worktops ourselves. We work with trusted partners who do it properly.
Solid surface worktops (granite, porcelain, quartz etc) are templated from the installed cabinets, not from the drawing. That’s why the templating happens after the units are fitted, and why a mitred edge on an island actually meets. We manage that stage with fabricators we’ve used for years, so you aren’t left coordinating between two companies.
We supply Silestone, Dekton, Corian, Sensa by Cosentino, Caesarstone, CRL Stone, Vadara, Spekva and Atlas Plan, and will talk you through the trade-offs: what marks, what stains, what needs sealing, and what asks nothing of you at all. We keep a library of samples, and we can take you to see a full slab, which matters most with natural stone where no two slabs are alike. We’ll bring your door and floor samples to the stone yard, because colour decisions made in isolation are the ones people regret.
Nine brands, chosen for how they perform
Supplied, templated and fitted with our trusted fabrication partners, as part of a complete kitchen.
Silestone — low-silica quartz
Made with Cosentino’s HybriQ+ technology from premium minerals and recycled materials, with as little as 10% crystalline silica depending on the range. Tough, stain-resistant and available in a very wide range of colours and patterns, with the cool solid feel of stone.
Dekton — sintered stone
Made under great heat and pressure, like a man-made metamorphic rock. The one surface that needs neither trivet nor chopping board, though it will blunt your knife. Supplied in 20mm slabs, or in 12mm with a mitred edge built up to whatever thickness you like.
Sensa by Cosentino — natural stone
High-quality natural stone with a protective treatment that gives high stain resistance and no special maintenance. Backed by a 15-year warranty.
Caesarstone — quartz
The original engineered quartz house, and still among the most consistent slab to slab. Particularly good in the pale, softly veined colours where a mismatch would show.
CRL Stone — low-silica quartz & ceramic
Low-silica quartz and silica-free surfaces alongside their Ceralsio ceramic. The large-format slabs mean big islands and fewer joins in the worktop, and a full-height splashback in a single piece with no join behind the hob.
Vadara — quartz
Marble-effect quartz with bold, directional veining — the Scandi Blue and Calacatta-inspired designs in particular. Non-porous and sealed for life, so it takes wine and lemon juice without marking. The choice when the island is meant to be the feature rather than the backdrop.
Atlas Plan — porcelain
Italian porcelain from Atlas Concorde, pressed into slabs up to 3.2 metres long. Heat, stain and UV proof, and it never needs sealing. The size is the point: a long island runs uninterrupted, and the veining is matched across the slab rather than stopping at a join.
Corian — solid surface
Bauxite ore and acrylic, joined virtually invisibly, so a run can curve up the wall as one hygienic form. Scuffs buff out, and a sanding every few years rejuvenates the whole surface.
Spekva — solid timber
Danish timber from sustainably managed forests. Warm, soft underhand and full of character; protected with natural oils applied a couple of times a year. Spekva also make textured timber breakfast bars.
Choose your worktop alongside your door and floor styles
Colour decisions made in isolation are the ones people regret. We will talk you through what marks, what stains, what needs sealing, and what asks nothing of you at all.
Veining runs the length of a slab, not a sample
A 100mm sample tells you the colour. It cannot tell you where the veins will land on your island. For anything with strong movement we will get you in front of the full slab before it is cut.
Statuario Oro slab
CRL Stone, silica-free. Creamy white with prominent golden-brown veining.
Ceralsio in a dark scheme
Large-format ceramic, so a full-height splashback runs with no join.
Caesarstone Topus Concrete
A warm mineral grey that sits well against timber and painted fronts.
CRL Quartz Venetian Grande
Marble-effect quartz on a long island run, showing how the pattern reads at length.
Edges, upstands and drainer grooves
Edge profile
Square, pencil-round, bullnose, shark’s nose, waterfall, inverted waterfall or mitred. Mitred looks thickest and costs most.
Upstand vs tiles
A matching stone upstand or backpanel removes the grout line behind the hob entirely. Take the matching worktop right up to the wall units and we’ll maximise the pattern match along the way.
Sink cut-out
Undermounted, inset or Belfast style: each changes how you wipe the surface down. An undermount sink with a solid surface worktop also gives you more worktop, with no need for the draining board of an inset sink.
Drainer grooves
Machined into the worktop beside the sink: elegant, and one less thing on the worktop. Or use a folding grid over the sink that rolls away when you’re done.
