Ceramic & Stone

A newer option in greys and rusts, reproducing the textures and patterns found in clay soils. Dense, matt and completely non-porous. Real slate can be used to pick out an area.

The most durable surface we fit to a door, and the newest of the six.

Ceramic fronts are fired rather than coated. The colour and texture go through the surface, which is what makes them completely non-porous and effectively immune to the things that mark other finishes — heat, solvents, sunlight, red wine.

The palette comes from the ground: greys, rusts, clay browns and the mineral patterning found in sedimentary soils. It is matt, dense and quietly textured, closer to a honed stone worktop than to any painted door.

It also lets a kitchen be built from one material. Ceramic on the doors, ceramic on the worktop and ceramic up the wall gives a monolithic room with almost nothing to maintain — and real slate can be brought in to pick out a single area.

Fired, not coated

The colour is in the material rather than on it, which is why the surface cannot be worn through, faded or dulled in the ordinary run of a kitchen.

Completely non-porous

Nothing soaks in. Wine, oil, turmeric and heat all sit on the surface until you wipe them off, which makes it the most relaxed material in the range.

Patterned like the ground

Greys, rusts and clay browns carrying the mineral markings of sedimentary soils. Quiet from across the room, detailed close up.

Door, worktop and wall

The same material can run across all three. A kitchen built that way reads as one dense, calm surface rather than as a set of separate elements.

Real slate as an accent

Where a single area wants lifting — a bank of tall units, the face of an island — genuine slate alongside the ceramic gives depth the reproduction cannot.

Matt, and dense to the touch

It feels like stone because it behaves like stone: cool, solid and slightly textured. It is the finish people reach out and touch in the showroom.
