Our own fitting team

The same faces from the first day to the last. Employed by us, not booked in for the week.

Leave it to the specialists

Our fitters are on Kitchensmiths’ payroll. Home-grown fitters with over 50 years of fitting between them, they understand how our designers design and what they expect, and they have fitted several hundred of our kitchens. If something on site needs adjusting, installer and designer talk it through, with a wealth of experience and skill to overcome the issue.

That’s also why we start just one strip-out and one installation each week. It’s a slower way to run a business, but it means every kitchen gets the time it needs.

One team, start to finish

One of our own fitters surveys the room once you have ordered, and our own team installs it. Nothing is explained twice, and nothing is lost between one company and the next.

Our own trades

Plasterer, electrician, plumber and gas engineer, all people we’ve worked with for years. Add in decorating, tiling or flooring and we will coordinate it all into the same schedule.

A house to live in

Dust sheets down, floors protected, tools away at the end of the day; we can lend you a portable hob and will keep you going with a sink for as long as possible.

The fitting week by week

Three to four weeks: a beautifully choreographed sequence of tasks

Week one

Strip out

Old kitchen removed and taken away. First fix of electrics (lighting included) and plumbing, then a new ceiling if needed, and plastering where it’s needed.

Week two

The kitchen goes in

The jigsaw begins. Base units and tall units go in, along with ovens, fridges and dishwasher. Templating for the worktops happens once all the base units are fixed in place.

Week two & three

Flooring and decorating

While the worktops are being made, we carry on with flooring and decorating.

Week four

Finishing

Worktops installed, sink and tap plumbed up. The hob can now go in, along with any units that sit on the worktop. Plinths and end panels are fitted. Final decorating and the snagging list. Then a walk round together before we leave.

If a hinge drops or a seal needs replacing, you ring the same number and speak to the same people.

Come and meet the people who will be in your house.
